Fender’s CD-60S all-mahogany dreadnought acoustic guitar provides an alluring introduction to the world of acoustic music. Featuring a solid mahogany top, back and sides, this instrument delivers a warm and rich tone with a balanced attack, ideal for guitarists seeking an alternative to spruce’s brightness. Fender designed the CD-60S with comfort and playability in mind, equipping it with an easy-to-play neck profile and rolling the fingerboard edges for a smooth feel when sliding up and down the neck.
Solid Mahogany Top, Back and Sides
While spruce reigns supreme as the most popular tonewood for acoustic tops, mahogany has long served as a rich-toned alternative. Paired with matching mahogany back and sides, the CD-60S’s all-mahogany construction produces a harmonious tone with a woody midrange and rounded highs. This wood combination is a particular favorite among fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters seeking a warm, intimate sound.
Easy-to-Play Neck Profile
An instrument’s neck shape plays a significant role in how comfortable it feels to play. Fender designed the CD-60S with an easy-to-play neck profile, providing a slim, fast feel ideal for beginning and intermediate players. The rolled fingerboard edges give a smooth playing surface, allowing fingers to glide effortlessly up and down the fretboard.
Dreadnought Body Shape
The CD-60S’s dreadnought body shape is known for a bold, full tone with ample projection, ideal for vocal accompaniment and ensemble playing. This traditional acoustic shape provides a robust low end, clear mids and crisp highs, allowing the CD-60S to handle a variety of musical styles with ease.
Premium Appointments
Fender selected premium tonewoods and quality hardware to craft the CD-60S. A walnut fingerboard and bridge provide a durable playing surface, while die-cast tuning machines keep the instrument in tune. Nickel-plated frets add sustain and facilitate smooth string bends. With its solid wood construction, comfortable neck and premium appointments, the CD-60S delivers exceptional value for any guitarist.
