Fender John 5 Ghost Telecaster White

John 5 has spent nearly three decades turning the Telecaster into a vehicle for country-rooted precision, hard-rock attack and metal technique, and the Fender John 5 Signature Ghost Telecaster electric guitar distills that range into a stark, stripped-down Telecaster. A solid nyatoh body and Custom John 5 Medium “C” maple neck support a 25.5″ scale, while a maple fingerboard with a 9.5″ radius and 22 narrow-tall frets maintains familiar Fender proportions. Dual DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers provide the high-output foundation for his heavier approach, while a master volume, three-position pickup toggle and dedicated killswitch keep performance control immediate. A 6-saddle Tele bridge with humbucking pickup cutout provides a fixed-bridge platform, while the Arctic White finish, mirror pickguard and red accents give the Ghost its unmistakable visual identity. Put John 5’s stripped-down, high-output Telecaster formula to work in your own rig with the Ghost.

Nyatoh Body and Custom Medium C Neck Shape the Feel

The Ghost uses a solid nyatoh Telecaster body with a maple neck carved to John 5’s Custom Medium “C” profile. A 25.5″ scale maintains familiar Fender proportions, while the maple fingerboard combines a 9.5″ radius with 22 narrow-tall frets and red dot inlays. The satin neck finish and 1.69″ Micarta nut round out a configuration that stays recognizably Telecaster while supporting John 5’s wide-ranging approach to rhythm and lead playing.

D Activators and Killswitch Keep Control Immediate

DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions give the Ghost its high-output pickup configuration. A three-position pickup toggle and single master volume keep the primary electronics straightforward, while the dedicated killswitch provides an additional performance control for abrupt signal cuts and stutter-style effects. The streamlined layout puts the dual D Activators and killswitch at the center of a design tailored to John 5’s heavier, highly expressive approach.

Six-Saddle Tele Bridge Provides a Fixed Platform

A 6-saddle Tele bridge with a humbucking pickup cutout anchors the Ghost on a fixed-bridge platform. Individual saddles provide dedicated adjustment points for each string, while a Micarta nut and Deluxe cast/sealed locking tuning machines complete the string path. Chrome hardware adds contrast against the Arctic White finish, reinforcing a configuration that retains recognizable Telecaster hardware elements while accommodating the guitar’s dual-humbucker design.

Arctic White and Mirror Details Define the Ghost

An Arctic White finish establishes the Ghost’s stark visual foundation, while a 1-ply mirror pickguard provides its strongest visual contrast. Red pickup covers and a red speed knob introduce vivid accents that coordinate with the red dot and side-dot markers along the maple fingerboard. Chrome hardware completes the presentation, giving the Ghost a distinctive signature aesthetic while leaving the familiar Telecaster outline immediately recognizable.
