The new SE Swamp Ash Special adds a fresh face and versatile voice to the lineup with a swamp ash body and 22-fret maple neck with maple fretboard. Featuring a PRS-Designed AS-01 Single Coil “S” pickup in the middle position, which employs both alnico and steel to add mass and create a powerful sound, flanked by dual 85/15 “S” pickups—all of which are paired with a push-pull tone control and 3-way toggle pickup switch— the new PRS SE Swamp Ash Special offers tight low-end, bright-yet-mellow highs, plus a welcom twangy tone that go from “hot country” to blues, and even jazz tones.
